The Battle of the Bastards Custom Scenario

“Do you like to play games, little man?”

 – Ramsay Bolton

On one side stands the Bastard of the Dreadfort. On the other side stands the Bastard of Winterfell. The fate of the North will be decided in this all-or-nothing pitched battle.

On the Table Gaming is excited to share with you the first of a series of custom scenarios for the  A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop miniatures game, built by fans for fans.  This scenario, and subsequent scenarios, looks to provide you with opportunities to recreate your favorite battles from the both the books and popular media.

 Gameplay & Strategy

This fan-made scenario uses the mechanics of the A Game of Thrones game mode to recreate The Battle of the Bastards. The current Recommended Lists version sees a 50-point House Stark army led by Jon Snow (998th Lord Commander) facing a 51-point House Bolton army led by Ramsay Snow (The Bastard of Bolton).

There are several units you’ll want to avoid at all costs. Keep the Bolton Flayed Men away from a wounded Savage Giant. If the Free Folk Raiders see the Umber Berserkers marching towards them, it may be time to maneuver away and regroup.

Perhaps most vital will be the tactics board, where House Stark will have to do what they can to ensure that Cersei Lannister does not devastate the Free Folk before they can even join the fray.

Use Littlefinger to best counter Cersei by blocking the Crown zone while still giving Rickon Stark a chance to zig-zag for his life.

Future Additions

The Recommended Lists version utilizes one unreleased unit, the Bolton Blackguards. Hopefully in the future there will be a more powerful Neutral ranged unit to add to Ramsay’s army, perhaps from House Bolton or House Frey. We look forward to adding Davos Seaworth in the future as well.

If you have any suggestions for improvements to The Battle of the Bastards or requests for other scenarios, please let us know in the ASOIAFcc.com comment section below.

Editor’s Note: Thank you to ASOIAFcc.com contributor Shane for creating this custom scenario. This is a fan-made scenario inspired by CMON Game’s A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game and is in no way associated with CMON.
